Kenny Loh Couture x MAG Sustainable Tomorrow Kasut Manik - Penang Green

Our unique kasut manik (beaded shoes) were made in partnership with Malaysia Airlines Group (MAG) using upcycled Malaysia Airlines trademark kebaya uniforms as part of our global sustainability initiative.​

Penang is one of the three settlements in the Malayan Peninsular that became home to the Peranakan community. As food and fashion are integral to the Peranakan way of life, this pair of intricate Kenny Loh Couture x MAG Sustainable Tomorrow Kasut Manik (beaded shoes) was inspired by the diamond-cut Nyonya kueh (Peranakan cakes and dessert). Each pair of kasut manik (beaded shoes) features 2,000 beads, expertly cross-stitched into a diamond motif through local craftsmanship from Kenny Loh Couture.​

Green represents growth and renewal. A nod to our sustainability initiative as well as our support for the revitalisation of this intricate craft and its artisans. ​
