SANDAKAN: 3D2N Sandakan & Sukau Wildlife Experience,Borneo Nature Lodge;

Day 01: Arrive Sandakan airport this morning and head straight to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, you will be arriving just in time for feeding. The world’s largest orangutan rehabilitation centre, it offers you the chance to come face to face with the huge red apes found naturally only in Borneo and Sumatra. Learn about this loveable primate, its fight for survival and the efforts in place to save it from extinction. Next, journey by road to the Sandakan jetty and continue through the jungle by a river boat to Sukau, located in the Kinabatangan river basin. After settling-in to your lodge, spend the afternoon at leisure before going in search of the indigenous birds and the rare proboscis monkeys on a leisurely cruise down the river. Today lunch and dinner will be included.

Day 02: Leave Sukau behind and travel by road to Sandakan, stopping en-route at the giant Gomantong Cave. Take a short walk to the opening cavern and explore the cave system on a boardwalk. The cave has been long renowned for its swiftlet nests, which are harvested sustainably each year to make the Chinese delicacy of bird’s nest soup. Arriving Sandakan, enjoy a short sightseeing tour of the city, visiting the central market, water village and a Buddhist temple. Later, transfer to hotel in Sandakan for check-in. Free at leisure after check-in. Today breakfast and lunch will be included.
Please note: Whilst the accommodation used for this tour is clean and comfortable, it is very basic. It may have a shower only, or fan instead of air conditioning. Be prepared that some roads are in poor condition and may be bumpy.
Day 03: After breakfast, free on your own to explore the city before your transfer to the airport.
